Position Overview:
This role has two primary responsibilities. The Fund / Risk Manager at Amur Financial Group is responsible for; working closely with our Senior Fund Manager and our Chief Credit Officer, underwriting potential mortgage loads and managing assigned portfolios of mortgages. This role also works closely with the CEO of Fund Management on special projects, new initiatives and is an external brand ambassador to the market, the community and our partners.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Underwriting potential mortgage loans for Amur’s related MICs that are within the investment guidelines and policies as set by each MIC’s Board of Directors
· Develop strong working relationships with fund management staff, internal teammates, bank officers, attorneys, auditors and other services providers for our MICs
· Manage assigned portfolio of mortgages for which you will have primary management
· Assist in updating monthly and quarterly corporate level reports
· Attention to regulatory requirements and compliance training applicable to position in all related regions of operations
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
· 4 years of underwriting and/or mortgage management experience
· Finance or Banking Experience
· Bachelor's degree, finance or accounting concentration preferred
· Self-motivated, self-starter with exceptional relationship management
· Highly organized and flexible/adaptable to changes in the business environment
· Proven critical thinking skills and attention to detail
· A valid Mortgage Brokers Licenses is an asset
· Proficient with Excel and Microsoft; knowledge of basic excel modeling and formulas
· Database and/or quantitative tools a strong plus
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills
